Privacy Policy
Pikpin is an independent location-based mobile app that helps users discover map points of interest, browse nearby postcard spots, and download region data for offline use.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Pikpin collects, how we use it, when it may be shared, how long it may be retained, and what choices you have.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, "Pikpin," "we," "us," and "our" refer to pikpin.lab, the independent operator of the Pikpin app and legal pages, reachable at grujdeveloper@gmail.com.
1. Information We Collect
- Location data. If you grant location access, Pikpin uses your device location while the app is in use to show nearby content and improve local search results.
- Usage and analytics data. We use analytics and diagnostics tools, including services such as Firebase Analytics and Amplitude, to understand app usage, feature adoption, crashes, app opens, app updates, device and OS information, and related product analytics.
- Advertising and consent data. If the app displays ads, we use Google Mobile Ads and Google consent tools to record privacy choices where required and to support ad delivery, frequency control, fraud prevention, and measurement. Ad requests may involve device, network, general location, and consent-related information needed for those purposes.
- Downloaded content and local storage. Pikpin downloads region packs, manifest files, and related map content from our backend so the app can work faster and support offline browsing.
- Support communications. If you contact us, we may receive the information you include in your message, such as your email address and the details needed to respond.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide nearby search, map browsing, and offline data downloads.
- Operate, maintain, and secure Pikpin and its backend services.
- Measure product usage and improve features, stability, and performance.
- Deliver ads and manage ad-related consent choices where supported.
- Respond to support requests, investigate abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Service Providers and Sharing
We may share information with service providers and vendors that help us operate Pikpin, including analytics, advertising, map, hosting, storage, configuration, and infrastructure providers. Based on the current app build, this may include services such as Firebase, Amplitude, Google Mobile Ads, Mapbox, and our hosting or backend providers.
When we work with service providers, we expect them to handle information consistently with applicable law, their contractual obligations, and the nature of the services they provide. Some providers act on our behalf, while others may process data under their own terms and privacy notices.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect users, respond to legal requests, or prevent fraud, abuse, or security issues.
We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money.
4. Advertising and Consent Choices
If the app displays ads, Pikpin uses Google privacy and messaging tools to collect and store consent choices where required by law. Our ad partners may process limited device and ad request information to deliver and measure ads, subject to your consent choices where applicable.
Where privacy options are available in the app, you can use that entry point to review or update ad-related consent choices. You can also limit ad personalization through platform or account-level controls that may be offered by Google or your device provider.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Pikpin, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, comply with legal obligations, and support analytics and advertising operations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data, the purpose for which it was collected, and the service provider involved.
For example, support emails may be kept for follow-up and recordkeeping, analytics and advertising data may be retained according to the settings and retention practices of the relevant providers, and local downloads remain on your device until you remove them.
Offline region files stored on your device remain there until you delete them in the app or remove the app from your device.
6. Your Choices
- You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings.
- You can delete downloaded region data from within the app.
- You can use the app's privacy options flow, if shown, to update consent choices for ads.
- You can contact us to request help, ask privacy questions, or request deletion of support communications you previously sent us, subject to legal, security, and operational limits.
- You can contact us to request deletion of data we directly maintain for support or service operations. We may need to retain limited information where required for security, abuse prevention, recordkeeping, or legal compliance.
7. Children's Privacy
Pikpin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
8. International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live because our service providers and infrastructure may operate globally. Where applicable, we rely on the safeguards made available by those providers and under applicable law.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app.
